Merger
[edit]County Road 61 (Lake County, Minnesota) should be merged into this article. Both are the remnants of U.S. Route 61 in Minnesota. This section wasn't retained by the state as a Trunk Highway, but does retain the number. IMHO, the notability of the CR is enhanced by being merged into the history of the TH. - Support merging to US 61 in MN, since it appears the CR was never part of MN 61. Dough4872 05:23, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- Comment - What is today the North Shore Scenic Drive was part of U.S. 61 until the 1960s, it was never part of MN 61. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sable232 (talk • contribs)
- Support merging to MN 61. The history of former US 61 (the North Shore portion) is explained in the MN 61 article, not the US 61 in MN article. The segment of former US 61, from the city of Wyoming, MN north to the Canadian border, was decommissioned in 1991. -Damon207 (talk • contribs) 18:25, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- The CR never existed as MN 61, so therefore MN 61 is a bad merge target. Dough4872 19:44, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- There are 2 solutions:
- Create a list article called County roads in Lake County, Minnesota and merge the current Lake CR 61 into there (which would fit the format of the County roads in XXX County, Minnesota theme, and all the County Road XX (St. Louis County, Minnesota) were merged into County roads in St. Louis County, Minnesota in this fashion).
- Create a Constitutional Route 1, merge Lake CR 61 into it as well as provide links to other articles pertaining to relevant sections of road.
- Personally, I would rather go with 1., not merge Lake CR 61 with Constitutional Route 1, but provide a link in Constitutional Route 1 to County roads in Lake County, Minnesota.CJLippert (talk) 00:14, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
